We accomplished our goal for this day. I learned a long time ago that the easy way to reduce stress of packing and worry about not getting something done was to set my personal goal of departure as getting out of town the 1st day. We got out of town. We finally got on the road about 2 PM and then I had to do some relearning about loading a trailer. 3 tries later I got it right so that the tail was not waging the dog. Bel and I had a nice drive thru eastern WI. The smell of the new mown hay is always invigorating. It is one of the main benifit from being part of the enviroment and not moving through it in a cage.
The Green Bay shore of the UP was very nice. Wind had quieted down so lake was calm. It was beautiful reflections. I missed my photo op and Bel didn't stop but wanted to. Hope to see many more opportunities on this trip. We did not get into town until 9:30 local time. Sun had just set and it got really cold during the last 45 min. Temp was in the upper 40's when we shut it down.
I tried to shoot some photos while on the bike. I will check them out in the AM and try to get some on this site, if they are any good and I can figure out how to do it. Time for bed. It will be an early start tomorrow. We need to make a lot of mile.

Still packing. Bel and I decided that we would wait until Monday. We weren't ready for Saturday AM and figured that we would let the rain blow through today so that we could get a fresh start for Monday. I am suppose to be at his place in Wausau at 9 AM.
I have the bike ready except for the oil change. Will do that this afternoon during the race. I have my cameras set. I am currently charging all the batteries so be set for a fresh start. I am still trying to get my new computer set up. Everything that I have is set for Windows XP and they insisted that I could only get Windows 7. I don't know that much about computer programs to make it easy. What is wrong with XP anyway?
Bel and I agreed to do some hard riding the next couple days to get over to the east coast so hope the next post will be about 600 mile down the road tomorrow evening.

Getting Started
We were scheduled to leave on Tuesday but are still getting bikes ready. Bel and I have decided that we will not put stress on ourselves by setting artificial dates. The garage is not looking pretty right now. Will be calling Bel this am to see how we are set for tomorrow, Friday.
